I am collecting daily unsubstantial artifacts as proof of life,

knowing these are connections — the few final

scratches — quivvering lines

attempting to shape the numbers and letters

of memory.

Scraps of paper once tossed as meaningless,

now saved, value appreciating with

scarcity and impending end.
